Welcome to my build site. After a very long wait I have finally got around to creating this site and hope to make it informative and useful for others who are either already building or considering building a Tiger Avon.
First a little background:
Me: I worked on helicopters in the Army for 15 years and am now working as an IT consultant. I have wanted to build my own car since I was 15 but it has taken 20 years for that dream to come true! As with most car builders you will find, i have my own way of doing things and my own opinions about what is right and wrong. Therefore please don't take anything I say in this site as gospel, it is merely my opinion.
The Car: The Tiger Avon is a Lotus 7 inspired two seater made by Tiger Racing, based in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. It is marketed as a Low-cost model which still has the ability to raise a grin. It features a mild steel spaceframe chassis with a one peice fibreglass body. Most of the donor parts come from the Ford Sierra but various engines can be accomodated.
